Understanding Business
Written by: William Nickels, James McHugh, Susan McHugh

Editorial Reviews:
Understanding Business by Nickels, McHugh, and McHugh has been the number one textbook in the introduction to business market for several editions for three reasons: (1) The commitment and dedication of an author team that teaches this course and believes in the importance and power of this learning experience, (2) we listen to our customers, and (3) the quality of our supplements package. We consistently look to the experts –full-time faculty members, adjunct instructors, and of course students– to drive the decisions we make about the text itself and the ancillary package. Through a series of focus groups, symposia, as well as full-book, single-chapter, revised manuscript reviews of both text and key ancillaries, we have heard the stories of more than 500 professors and their insights and experiences are evident on every page of the revision and in every supplement. As teachers of the course and users of their own materials, the author team is dedicated to the principles of excellence in business education. From providing the richest most current topical coverage to using dynamic pedagogy that puts students in touch with today’s real business issues, to creating groundbreaking and market-defining ancillary items for professors and students alike, Understanding Business leads the way.

Comment: Great book, easy read, and excellent stories and examples. The book is in excellent condition and appears new. Definitely worth the savings.

Summary: mildly datisfied
Comment: While the book is exactly what I needed, the act of getting it here was a struggle. I think the seller forgot about the order, because it took almost 2 weeks with EXPEDITED shipping. My item came at the very END of the shipping window. To me, if I pay for EXPEDITED shipping, the order should be treated as important and processed immediately. It is clear this seller has a different understanding of customer service. End result: Book is great, service is awful.

Summary: Great Savings!
Comment: I was looking for this book and found it expensive in new condition. Amazon had one slightly used for a great savings of 2/3. Amazon always comes through in the clutch.
Customer Rating:

Summary: Easy book, but not very accurate or practical.
Comment: The book assumes that the US/West has a "capitalist" system. In fact the economy in China is much freer than it is here. This is why China grows 10% a year for 30 years in a row. Also the book talks too much about empowerment and benefits which are not applicable in many parts of the world.

Summary: Incredible
Comment: This was the first time we use amazon since my son is just starting college, and we were amazed at how quickly we received the textbook and the condition of the book. The book was in excellent condition, looked just like new. Thank you.
